Motivate my teen

motivation voucher - teen
You only pay if your teen redeems it

Would your teen like to improve their grades? Lose some weight? Cut down on dozens of hours’ screen time? It’s a special kind of torture to see your teen struggle with behaviour change.

You’ve landed at Stake Something, a behaviour change business run by Bret Treasure and Ben Raphael.

It turns out that small financial rewards are an effective motivator for kids. Here’s how this works.

1. Download the voucher

It offers a $25 weekly reward for four weeks. See if your teen wants to redeem the voucher. Then agree with them what action they’ll take to earn the reward, and how often a week they’ll take the action.

2. Activate the voucher

If there’s a meeting of minds, head back here with your credit card details and your teen’s PayID phone number, fill in the form and we’ll set things up as a contract between the two of you.

You (the parent/grandparent) put up the $100 and the teen promises to take weekly actions for 4 weeks.

3. The teen starts the game

Any week they keep their promise, they win a $25 reward. The actions will become a habit over time. Pretty soon, a reward won’t be needed at all.

Your teen will get a weekly reporting reminder and some encouragement, you’ll get to see their weekly report and we’ll manage the payouts. If your teen’s not ready to commit to actions, they can use the voucher for a motivational coaching session.

Costs you nothing to download the voucher, but if your teen is interested, and you then invest $100, you may change a life for the better.

Teens need to have a bank account to participate
