It’s likely you’re here because a teen you know could use some motivation coaching in a particular area, and you care enough to be willing to fund that.

Behaviour science tells us that small financial rewards can change behaviour. However, they only work if the teen is interested in making the change.

What’s the deal?

Your side of the deal is offering a $25/week reward. What action is the teen promising to win the reward? It needs to be specific and easily measured, for example: cut recreational screen time to an hour a day.

Games start Monday

Stake Something coaches your teen by SMS. They promise a weekly action, then report to the coach on Sunday whether or not they kept their word. If so, they win the reward. If they forget to report or don’t keep their word, they forfeit the reward to Stake Something. Simple.

Neuroscience says, by taking new actions repeatedly you rewire your brain and form a habit.
